The SCCV Supportive Care Framework

On the 11^th July 2011, the SCCV Framework for Professional Competency in the Provision of Supportive Care, along with a suite of SCCV Supportive Care Education Resources, was officially launched by Victoria’s Minister for Health, Hon Minister David Davis MP as part of the ICS SCC 2011 program.

Incorporating feedback from SCCV workshops, online surveys and discussions with representatives of the ICS and various cancer services, the Framework aims to inform and support the development of health service capacity using a consistent, evidence based and coordinated approach to meet the supportive care needs of people affected by cancer across Victoria.

This framework was developed to enable the ICS teams to engage health services to support the changes required to improve the provision of evidence based supportive care for people affected by cancer and promote consistency across the state.
